For Indian cooking Jasmine rice or Basmathi rice is good.
For 1 person , take 1 cup of rice and wash it well and then add 21/4 cups of
water along with 1 tsp of oil and 1/4 tsp of salt and then place it in a rice cooker or keep it in the microwave for about 10 minutes.
